Southern Cal hires coach, leaves hot candidates open for SEC vacancies

The list of candidates for SEC coaching jobs opened up Monday morning when Southern Cal announced hiring Clay Helton as its permanent head coach.
The hiring leaves several top candidates open for other positions around the country, including vacancies at Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri.
Helton, the Trojans’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, had served as the interim coach for the Trojans after Steve Sarkisian left the team for personal reasons and then was fired.
Southern Cal made the announcement on twitter.
