Stonka Burnside is keeping his finalists inside the state of Mississippi, as both Ole Miss and Mississippi State made his list.
Burnside is a 4-star athlete out of Starkville (Miss.) High via the 2024 class. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 13 athlete and No. 7 Mississippi prospect. He comes in at 6-0.5-feet tall, 185 pounds.
247Sports’ Robbie Faulk shared the news on the X platform on Wednesday.
Starkville 4 star WR Stonka Burnside tells me he has narrowed his list down to Mississippi State and Ole Miss as a final two.
Burnside will announce his decision at the Under Armour All American game on January 3.

The SEC schools that didn’t quite make the cut despite showing interest in Burnside included Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn, and South Carolina.
Ole Miss has 3 athletes verbally committed from the 2024 class. The Rebels have 4-star commit Noreel White and 3-star commits Anthony Robinson II as well as Shamaar Darden.
Burnside would be the Bulldogs 1st verbal athlete commitment if he sticks with the local team. Mississippi State earned a commitment from Burnside back in June, but he decommitted in November.
The positions that Burnside spent the most time at have been receiver and safety. He also runs track and field for his high school team.
