It’s Day 3 of SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama, but the biggest Southeastern Conference story of the day involved two teams currently in the Big 12. The college football world was rocked by a report from Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle that Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC about joining the conference.

Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey were among those asked to comment on the news. Now a Texas spokesperson has issued a statement (via Brooks Kubena):

“Speculation always swirls around collegiate athletics.  We will not address rumors or speculation.”

As many noted, that statement is far from a firm denial.

This story doesn’t appear to be quieting down any time soon.
