Auburn has so many questions at quarterback next season, but Friday brings a potential answer.

Former Texas Tech quarterback Davis Webb, who was granted his release from the school back on Dec. 30, will visit Auburn in February after visiting Colorado at some point this month.

He is eligible to play next season as a graduate transfer. Wherever his landing spot may be, he’s planning on enrolling in the summer as a senior.

Webb’s decision to transfer was expected after he lost the starting job to Patrick Mahomes this season. Webb, who started 14 games with the Red Raiders, started the first eight games of 2014 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. He then lost the QB battle with Mahomes before the 2015 season.

While with the Red Raiders, Webb threw for 5,557 yards with 46 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury, who’s had seven quarterbacks transfer over the last two seasons, had this to say in a statement at the time of Webb’s transfer.

“Davis Webb is the hardest-working individual I’ve ever had the privilege of coaching,” Kingsbury said. “He’s a fierce competitor and an extremely talented quarterback. Wherever Davis lands, he will immediately change the outlook of that program. All Red Raider fans should be extremely proud of what he’s accomplished here in Lubbock and look forward to watching him compete next season.”
