Tom Herman moved on from Texas to the Chicago Bears coaching staff, and evidently is not considering a return to college football amid a frenetic coaching carousel.

Herman spoke with Andy Staples of The Athletic on Wednesday, and shared his thoughts on his coaching future, be it a head coach or coordinator position in college football.

“He told me that he’s happy in the NFL and that his preference is to remain in that league,” Staples shared.

Herman joined Matt Nagy’s Chicago Bears offensive staff after he spent the previous 4 seasons as head coach at Texas, where he collected a 32-18 record in 4 consecutive winning seasons with 4 bowl appearances.

Herman has a long history of college coaching, including previous stops at Houston (2015-16), Ohio State (2012-14), Iowa State (2009-11), Rice (2007-08), Texas State (2005-06), Sam Houston State (2001-04), Texas (Graduate Assistant, 1999—2000) and Texas Lutheran (1998).
