Former Baylor coach Art Briles has found his next coaching job, and this one will be north of the border.

Briles is headed to the Canadian Football League to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He will be joining June Jones’ staff as the team’s assistant head coach offense.

There was widespread speculation whether or not Briles would land a coaching job in college after leaving Baylor amid a messy scandal and investigation. He was erroneously mentioned in connection with Auburn’s open offensive coordinator position by some before the hiring of Chip Lindsey.

The Tiger-Cats tweeted out the announcement Monday morning:

It is safe to say the Tiger-Cats will not be lacking for knowledge on the offensive side of the ball. Hawaii was known for a strong offense during Jones’ tenure while Baylor finished at or near the top of many offensive categories during Briles’ run as head coach.

It will be interesting to see if Briles ever returns to the college game.
