Despite not having a great deal of success against Florida in recent history, the Gators have beaten Georgia in three consecutive seasons and hold a 21-6 advantage over the Dawgs since 1990, the official Georgia Football Twitter account took a shot at their SEC East rival Wednesday.

Georgia will open the season between the hedges against Appalachian State Saturday, Sept. 2, which is in exactly 45 days. To celebrate the countdown to kickoff, the UGA Twitter account recalled one particularly 45-yard touchdown that’s sure to bring a smile to every member of Bulldog Nation.

Looking back at the 2012 season, Georgia was eager to remember the 45-yard score from quarterback Aaron Murray to receiver Malcolm Mitchell that was the difference in a 17-9 win over the Gators.

The video was accompanied with the following caption: “Let’s hope the next 45 days go as quickly as these 45 yards.”

With many projecting the SEC East to be a two-team race this season, much like in the play above, the division could come down to one key play in Jacksonville come Oct. 28.
