For all the Mizzou, Arkansas and Ole Miss fans hoping their team had a chance to land Washington State coach Mike Leach, we have some bad news.

On Thursday morning, the Cougars announced they had inked the popular coach to a contract extension.

Per the tweet from Washington State, Leach now has a contract through the end of the 2024 season:

“Mike Leach has established, and continued, a culture of success at Washington State, both academically and athletically, that few have matched,” WSU Director of Athletics Pat Chun said in a statement. “He has returned WSU to national prominence, is one of the top football coaches in the nation, and we are fortunate to have him leading our program.”

Leach will continue to make $4 million per season, including a one-time bonus of $750K following the 2020 season.
