Chances are, most SEC fans weren’t keeping an eye on the Division III battle between Endicott College (Beverly, Mass.) and Bridgewater State (Bridgewater, Mass.) on Saturday.

But it was without a doubt one of the most dramatic college football games of the day.

The Gulls (that’s Endicott’s team, by the way) won the game in the final seconds after pulling off two miracle catches to cover the length of the field.

On fourth down, while backed up deep in their own territory and trailing 28-22, the Gulls threw up a prayer. It was caught — with one hand — by wide receiver Brendan Johnson. That left 32 seconds in the game.

A couple plays later, Sheilan Velazquez pulled off a leaping, comparably miraculous catch in the end zone as time expired. The ensuing extra point gave the Gulls a 29-28 win.
