College football is known for the many traditions from school-to-school, and the Iowa Hawkeyes can take credit for the best new tradition in 2017.

The university recently completed the Stead Family Children’s hospital overlooking Kinnick Stadium, and patients can watch the Hawkeyes in action from their rooms high above the stadium on Saturdays throughout the fall. Officials encouraged fans in attendance to take a moment during Saturday’s season opener to turn and wave to the hospital, knowing that many children and their families would be watching the game.
