It was officially announced Saturday that Scott Frost has accepted the head coaching position at Nebraska.

Frost finished off a perfect season with UCF after knocking off Memphis in the American Athletic Conference Championship. The game was a nail-biter that went into double overtime. In the end, UCF knocked off Memphis by a score of 62-55 to complete a 12-0 season under Frost.

He now returns to coach the Huskers where he played from 1995-97. Frost had a strong career as a QB and led Nebraska to a share of the national championship in 1997. He even led the team to a 42-17 win over Peyton Manning and Tennessee in the Orange Bowl that season.

Frost took over at UCF in 2016 after serving as the OC at Oregon from 2013-2015. He provided instant results and took a team that was winless in 2015 and produced six wins and a bowl berth in 2016. The win Saturday gives him an 18-7 record over two seasons with the Knights.

In the end, the opportunity to coach at his Alma mater was too much for Frost to turn down. Nebraska Football announced the hiring on Saturday with a “Welcome Home” video, and it is incredible:
