Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram have only shared the New Orleans Saints’ backfield for one season, but what a season it was.

Ingram, a former Alabama star, put up 1,124 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns and added 416 rushing yards. Kamara, an ex-Tennessee back, won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award, amassing 728 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, adding 826 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver.

That huge years was enough for NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks to declare them the best backfield duo of all-time, as you can see in the NFL Network segment below:

“This is the G.O.A.T.,” he says. “This is the greatest backfield tandem of all-time. No one has ever done what they’ve been able to do. Both guys amassed over 1,500 scrimmage yards. Both guys can do it in a variety of different ways — the can catch the ball out of the backfield, they’re terrific screen runners, they can both run. The thing about Alvin Kamara is Alvin Kamara is their best player on offense. He is the straw that really stirs the drink. When he’s on the field, everything goes better.”

Obviously, that’s high praise for the Saints’ tandem, and Ingram will miss the first four games of the 2018 season due to suspension. However, when they’re both on the field, they’re nightmares for opposing defenses, and that should continue for a few years to come.
