The second weekend of the college football season is almost here. You can spend most of it lounging around watching 11  games involving SEC teams. Unless you root for LSU you’ve already gotten a glimpse of your favorite SEC team and now you get to see how it has improved from Week 1 to Week 2. Now we’ve rated all 11 games on watchability. These rankings are subjective, but factor in league and national impact along with how exciting and how close the games will be. Games are ranked on a 1-5 Georgia Dome scale (the site of the SEC Championship Game), with 5 being the most watchable game and 1 being the least.

5 GEORGIA DOMES

No. 19 Oklahoma at No. 23 Tennessee (6 p.m. ET, ESPN): A top 25 matchup between traditional powerhouses trying to reclaim past glory? Yes, please. The Sooners are hitting the road to play in one of the premier college football venues in the country and the noise will be cranked to 11 on Rocky Top. If you can’t be there, watching on ESPN is the next best thing. This is must-see TV.

4 GEORGIA DOMES

No. 14 LSU at No. 25 Mississippi State (9:15 p.m ET, ESPN): It didn’t take long before we begin to sort out what could be a ridiculous SEC West race. Two of the record 10 conference teams ranked in this week’s top 25 meet. Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott is going against an always-tough LSU secondary. Can he repeat last year’s 268-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Tigers?

3 GEORGIA DOMES

Kentucky at South Carolina (7:30 p.m. ET, SECN): These certainly aren’t the best teams in the SEC, but it should be competitive. Both teams could struggle to reach bowl eligibility and the one that loses this game might be kicking itself by the time the season is over. Kentucky is going for its second straight win against the Gamecocks as Mark Stoops continues to build in Lexington.

No. 10 Georgia at Vanderbilt: (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS): Georgia should win fairly easily, but this is the first opportunity of the season to watch two SEC teams play each other, that alone makes it an above average viewing experience. And you never know, perhaps Vandy’s secondary can give new Bulldogs quarterback Greyson Lambert trouble if Georgia doesn’t just go to a steady diet of Nick Chubb runs.

No. 21 Missouri at Arkansas State (7 p.m. ET, ESPN3): Arkansas State has been the best program in the Sun Belt despite a revolving door of coaches moving on to bigger and better jobs. Now there is finally some continuity and a marquee opponent coming to visit the renovated stadium in Jonesboro. Missouri will take all kinds of heat if they lose this game, but Gary Pinkel’s team is walking into a lion’s den and can expect to get everything ASU has got.

East Carolina at Florida (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2): East Carolina isn’t the same team as last season when they sat atop the American Athletic Conference standings most of the season, but it should be a much tougher test for Jim McElwain’s Gators this week. Both teams like to throw the ball all over the field, so get ready for a track meet.

2 GEORGIA DOMES

Fresno State at No. 17 Ole Miss (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2): Fresno State is still a solid Mountain West program that made it to the conference championship game last year, but the Bulldogs aren’t the giant killers they once were. Fresno State might have around for a while, but look for Ole Miss to pull away at home.

Middle Tennessee State at No. 2 Alabama (4 p.m. ET, SECN): The Blue Raiders will try to go up-tempo and might challenge the Crimson Tide secondary, but Alabama is too strong all over the field for Middle Tennessee to have much hope of hanging around for long.

Toledo at No. 18 Arkansas (4 p.m. ET, SECN): It will be the season opener for Toledo after their game with Stony Brook was cancelled last week. The Rockets have a shot to win the MAC, but as we saw last week when Bowling Green played Tennessee, that shouldn’t be enough to hang with a good SEC team playing in a friendly stadium.

1 GEORGIA DOME

Ball State at No. 16 Texas A&M (7 p.m. ET, ESPNU): Unless the Aggies suffer a huge letdown after beating Arizona State last week, this should be a huge blowout in the grand opening of a renovated Kyle Field.

Jacksonville State at No. 6 Auburn (noon ET, SECN): Auburn should able to name their score in this one, but diehard War Eagle fans can see some young backups get playing time.
