South Carolina just landed its first commitment of the 2022 recruiting cycle as Florida defensive back Anthony Rose has pledged to join Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks program.

The Hallandale, Fla., native announced the decision Tuesday afternoon, selecting South Carolina over Penn State and Arizona. He also holds scholarship offers from Michigan and Arizona State.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Hallandale High School product is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 24 safety prospect and the No. 405 overall prospect in the country for the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Rose now becomes the first prospect to commit to Torrian Gray following the coach’s return to Columbia to work for Beamer.
