Devin Carter was one of several South Carolina players to enter the NCAA transfer portal after coach Frank Martin was fired following the 2021-22 season.

Now, as the Gamecocks prepare for the Lamont Paris era in Columbia, those who entered the portal, including Carter, are making their decisions.

On Sunday, Carter took to Twitter to reveal he was transferring to Providence to play for coach Ed Cooley in the 2022-23 season:

Carter appeared in 30 games for the Gamecocks this past season, making 7 starts. He averaged 9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest.

How will he fare at Providence? He’ll try to help a team that advanced to the Sweet 16 last year before being eliminated by eventual national champion Kansas.
