Former South Carolina quarterback Steve Taneyhill has purchased a bar in Columbia called “Group Therapy,”ย according to a report from The State.

Taneyhill, who threw forย 8,782 yards and 62 touchdowns during his career with the Gamecocks (1992-95), has been coaching high school football for the last 16 years but couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to fulfill one of his dreams.

โ€œIโ€™ve wanted to own a bar since I was 18 years old,โ€ he said. โ€œAnd I always wanted to come back to Columbia and do something. So this was a good fit.โ€

Taneyhill says that though he’ll be changing the bar’s name to “Steve Taneyhill’s Group Therapy,” he won’t be making many other changes (outside of some personalย sports paraphernalia, of course).

โ€œItโ€™s not going to be a sports bar,โ€ he said. โ€œWe want to keep the tradition. But if the Gamecocks are playing on the road at 1 (p.m.), weโ€™ll be open at 11 (a.m.).โ€
