Frank Martin’s son announces he’s transferring to South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks, like many teams around the country, were hit hard by transfer portal losses this offseason.
But, on Monday, it was announced that a new player was heading to Columbia, and he has a familiar name.
As you can see below, Brandon Martin — son of South Carolina head coach Frank Martin — took to Twitter to announce he was transferring to join the Gamecocks:

Martin had previously been at USC Upstate, but appeared in only 3 games last season:

During his 3 years at Upstate, Martin played in 57 games, making 3 starts. He averaged 5.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest.
We’ll see what role he carves out for himself with the Gamecocks.
