The latest iteration of a must-win game at South Carolina comes this week when Kentucky comes to Williams-Brice Stadium for a Saturday night game.

With the Gamecocks being 1-3 and 0-2 in the SEC, and a five-game losing streak against the Wildcats, coach Will Muschamp was asked about this week being a must-win game, and he deflected the question.

“We have pressure every single week. There’s a lot of pressure. But you know what? There’s more pressure on us internally than externally, I can assure you of that,” Muschamp said at his weekly press conference. “They’re all must-win games. Every single one. Know what it’s going to be next week? Well, next week’s open … we need to kick open’s ass, too.”

Muschamp was also asked about fan support this week, and he expected plenty.

“We’re excited for the night game. Under the lights, it’s as good as anywhere in the country. We’re not worried about the fans. We know they’ll be there and supportive. It starts with the Gamecock Walk and we’re excited about it,” he said. “Our fans will be great. I know they will be supportive and we really, really appreciate them.”

The game with Kentucky will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.
