LOOK: Media members rip Will Muschamp's defense of Maryland coach DJ Durkin
On Saturday, it was revealed that three members of Maryland’s training staff, including strength and conditioning coach Rick Court, were placed on administrative leave.
Also on Saturday, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp came to the defense of Maryland coach DJ Durkin, who was on his staff at Florida.
Muschamp ripped ESPN’s reporting, which relied heavily on unnamed sources, and questioned their journalistic integrity. Needless to say, media members didn’t take too kindly to that.
As you can see in the tweets below, media members fired back at the South Carolina coach immediately:
Shocking that a football coach would defend another football coach while making himself look stupid by suggesting “there’s no credibility in anonymous sources.” https://t.co/KNUTbsqno5

He starts out making a legit point, then … https://t.co/asxpeGs9x8

A player is dead, but Muschamp is more worried about attacking ESPN's article and the staffer giving them information.

When people don’t like what reporting brings to light, they attack those doing the reporting. Every. Time. https://t.co/1ru3mMzAK8

Backed up by as many people and as much evidence as possible. Nobody makes the decision to use an anonymous source lightly and ESPN’s report was not based on one person.

Funny. Will Muschamp has been an anonymous source in stories for years. https://t.co/VnXatRBFN7

What happens next in this investigation remains to be seen, but it’s quite possible Muschamp will soon regret his comments on Saturday.
