Sindarius Thornwell will be among the NBA players headed to the league’s restart in Orlando, known as the bubble.

Thornwell’s most recent professional appearance came in the NBA’s G League as a member of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers but on Monday the New Orleans Pelicans announced they had signed the free agent guard from South Carolina.

During his time in the G League, Thornwell 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals for the Valley Vipers. In addition to his time in the G League, new Pelicans’ newest addition to the roster has played in 137 NBA games since being selected in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.

The former Gamecock was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team, was a two-time All-SEC Defensive Team selection and was named 2016-17 SEC Player of the Year following his senior season in Columbia.

Thornwell will wear No. 12 for the Pelicans during the upcoming NBA restart season.
