Playing in the XFL appears to have paid off for P.J. Walker.

One of the stars of the short XFL season, Walker is expected to sign with the Carolina Panthers according to multiple reports. The news was first reported by Dianna Russini of ESPN.

This signing would make sense for the Panthers on many levels, as Walker played for Matt Rhule at Temple. During his college career, Walker threw for 10,668 yards with 74 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. He also added another 771 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground.

Signing Walker also makes sense as the franchise has moved on from Cam Newton and signed free agent signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater last week. Newton is still currently on the roster in Carolina but is expected to be either traded or released before long.

Now with Walker expected to join the team, the new Panthers coaching staff led by Rhule and offensive coordinator Joe Brady will have a new-look quarterback room filled with signal-callers they each have experience working with previously during their careers.

To get an idea of what Carolina is getting in Walker, here’s every touchdown the quarterback scored during the latest XFL season.
