The Houston Texans are in the midst of a GM search after firing Brian Gaine last week, and this comes at a bad time for their offseason workouts.

That’s because mandatory minicamp starts this week, and star DL/OLB Jadeveon Clowney isn’t expected to attend.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Clowney has not signed his franchise tag, so he is unlikely to participate in the minicamp activities:

Clowney is searching for a longer-term deal, and Gaine was hopeful something could be worked out, but then he got fired.

Now, we’ll see if Clowney signs his franchise tender or if this holdout goes on into the summer.
