Shane Beamer reportedly hires long-time SEC offensive assistant
Shane Beamer is working to round out his staff at South Carolina for the 2024 season, and he’s reportedly hired a long-time SEC assistant.
James Coley, who has worked at Georgia, Miami and Florida State, and most recently on Jimbo Fisher’s staff at Texas A&M the last 3 seasons, will join the Gamecocks, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.
Known as a strong recruiter, especially across Florida, Coley has been the offensive coordinator at Florida State and Georgia, and also coached quarterbacks and tight ends, which is what he did with the Aggies. He went to Aggieland in 2020, but was named Texas A&M’s co-offensive coordinator in January 2022 by Fisher.
South Carolina is expected to hire James Coley as an offensive assistant coach, sources tell @247sports.

Coley was at Georgia from 2016 to 2019, and previously was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Miami from 2013-15. Prior to that, he worked with Fisher as offensive coordinator and tight ends coach (2010-12) and tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator (2008-09) at Florida State.
