Shane Beamer is not afraid to set himself apart from other coaches and programs, and a video that circulated around social media on Tuesday was the latest example.

Showing off his swag with an introduce into the Gamecocks’ meeting room, Beamer put on a hat backs, wrap around sunglasses and then set off sparklers as a party atmosphere ensued. Beamer is set to speak in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon at SEC Media Days.

This falls in line with Beamer’s embrace of a bucket of mayonnaise being dumped on him after the Gamecocks beat North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. That came as part of the Gamecocks’ celebration after their 38-21 victory over the Tar Heels in Charlotte.

The Gamecocks delivered wins last year over Florida and Auburn and exceeded expectations in what was expected to be a down season. The fact that they won 7 games in a season in which many expected 2 or 3 was impressive. “This is a great statement about where we are,” Beamer said after the bowl win.

Now the Gamecocks brought in a slew of transfers led by QB Spencer Rattler, and are expected to be ranked in the preseason Associated Press poll, and a dark horse to finish near the top of the SEC East.
