Recruiting classes aren’t just about the guys you land as scholarship players. It’s also important to fill out your roster with walk-ons and preferred walk-ons.
On Tuesday, the South Carolina Gamecocks added a commitment from an in-state 2020 wide receiver, who will apparently join the squad as a PWO.
As you can see below, Ben Rollins of Chapman High School announced via Twitter that he’d be joining the Gamecocks:

Rollins has yet to be rated by any of the major recruiting services. He’s 5-9 and weighs in at 150 pounds, so he has some bulking up to do over the next year.
We’ll see what sort of role he’s able to carve out for himself over the next couple of years, but first, he’ll try to finish off his high school career with a bang.
