South Carolina gets off to disastrous start against ECU

South Carolina would probably like to press “restart” on its game at East Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
The very first play from scrimmage was a 75-yard ECU touchdown pass from Tyler Snead to Jsi Hatfield.
As you can see below, it was a trick play that caught the South Carolina defense napping, leading to the easy touchdown for the Pirates:

There was also a flag for targeting on the play, but fortunately for the Gamecocks, the call was reversed upon review.
Still, things are off to a rocky start for coach Shane Beamer in his second game at the helm of the program. We’ll see if the Gamecocks can bounce back moving forward.
