After 3 seasons at South Carolina, Vincent Murphy has found his new home.

The Gamecock transfer announced his commitment to Western Kentucky on Sunday.

Murphy, out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, joined South Carolina in 2019, playing 1 game and taking a redshirt that season. In 2020, he played in 2 games as a redshirt freshman. This past season, he appeared in 8 games, receiving playing time at center and guard.

Murphy entered the transfer portal on Dec. 13, noting he would have 3 years of eligibility. Murphy can play 3 more seasons by using his extra year awarded by the NCAA. Due to the pandemic, the NCAA did not count the 2020 season against players’ 4 full seasons of eligibility.
