Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has now coached his program to four straight wins over South Carolina following Saturday’s 34-10 victory in Williams-Brice Stadium.

After the game, Swinney, who picked up his 100th win as Clemson’s coach, said it was the first time the program has beat four ranked teams on the road in Clemson history.

Here are some of the highlights of what Swinney said at his post-game press conference with reporters:

  • That was fun.
  • Great to be state champs, happy for our football team, knew it would be a hard-fought game. Every week is a playoff game for us, guys have embraced that.
  • I thought we controlled the game, good to see us throw and catch well. We threw it for more yards than they had total.
  • The interception was a huge spark early. Ryan disguised his coverage well.
  • Swinney on the trash on the field and his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty: It’s disappointing, that’s not representative of South Carolina, I lost my poise and they threw a flag because I came out of the box. It’s dangerous, I’m sure the event management folks will take care of that.
  • We felt like we had a better team than South Carolina, but there have been a couple of times we’ve had a better team and gotten beat.
  • They had a couple of big penalties, told team to walk away and be disciplined. Was message throughout the week.
