Vicari Swain, a 3-star athlete out of Carollton, Georgia (Central), has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Swain committed to South Carolina after he also had offers from the likes of Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Duke and Maryland. It’s unclear which position Swain would play in college, as he was recruited to South Carolina by coach Shane Beamer, secondary coach Torrian Gray and receivers coach Justin Stepp, Phil Kornblut reported. Swain is listed at 6 foot and 175 pounds.

Swain is No. 67 athlete in the country in the class of 2023, and the No. 76 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite.

“Relationship with the coaches, relationship with the players, the facilities, the fans and atmosphere,” Swain said in explaining what stood out the most about the Gamecocks. “The coaches were constantly checking on me every day, Facetiming me, texting my mom. They are like family. They stuck with me through the whole way of my recruiting, since the beginning. What really impressed me is their fan base is top, a huge fan base.”

Swain is the 17th commitment for the Gamecocks in the class of 2023, as their class is ranked No. 19.
