South Carolina no-showed the 2018 Belk Bowl and Will Muschamp and Jake Bentley are taking plenty of heat following the Gamecocks’ 28-0 shutout loss to Virginia.

Three years into the Muschamp-Bentley union, the South Carolina tandem may have just suffered the worst loss of the two have endured since teaming up in Columbia. The shutout was the program’s first since 2006. The SC offense finished the day converting two of 13 third-down conversions. The Gamecocks also missed a field goal and turned the ball over on downs on their only trip to the red zone.

South Carolina finished the game with 261 total yards of offense and only 43 total rushing yards. Bentley threw two costly picks in the second half that sealed the deal for his team. Those two turnovers give Bentley 14 interceptions on the season, a figure that only two QBs in the nation can top — Rutgers true freshman Artur Sitkowski and Liberty’s Stephen Calvert (18 each).

The online reactions were unkind to Bentley were unkind, to say the least, during the fourth quarter of the Belk Bowl:

Will Muschamp also got his fair share of heat online:
