15-yard penalty? Fans, media react to Oklahoma commit Treyaun Webb striking familiar pose
The first member of Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class didn’t waste any time to endear himself to Sooners faithful when he struck the “Horns down” pose shortly after announcing his commitment on Saturday. He picked Oklahoma over Ohio State and Georgia.
The commitment came only days after the Big 12 announced plans to penalize opponents that use the gesture on the field this season according to the league’s officiating coordinator Greg Burks.
“If you do a Horns Down to a Texas player as an opponent, that’s going to be a foul,” he said.
Fans who have been up on the news this week didn’t waste any time making one-liners about the new policy.
Here’s a sample of some of them:

Probably one of my most favorite recruits of the 23 class already just for doing this

Only announced a few minutes ago, and @w_treyaun already showing elite level skills #HornsDown https://t.co/Jml1DqBTpG

Does OU have a hand sign? I mean, it would all make sense just to make the horns down your official hand sign, then it would no longer be a penalty and we could all live happily ever after. Haha
