Mario Cristobal handled questions about his future better than his team handled the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Just moments after being beaten by Utah State 38-10, Cristobal was asked flatly is he would sign a contract extension with Oregon or pursue the head coaching vacancy at Miami, which has been widely reported.

“When you say someone has offered, I haven’t talked to anyone so let’s not create narratives as we sit here in this press conference,” Cristobal said. “When you say someone has offered, I haven’t talked to anybody. Oregon is working on some stuff for me and that’s where I have it right now and that’s the extent of that conversation.”

The Hurricanes are reportedly interested in replacing coach Manny Diaz with Cristobal, even though Diaz is still under contract with Miami. There have even been reports that Miami will keep Diaz.

“I would say that if there’s anything to report, I’d report it. I always have” said Cristobal, who added, “We’ve always had different people come for our people, including myself. How the media treats it, hot they choose to posture it, I have no control over it.”
