The Sun Bowl became the latest bowl to see a team withdraw as Miami reportedly had too many COVID-19 issues to play in the game against Washington State.

Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports and Brett McMurphy of The Action Network each reported the news, and McMurphy added that it’s unknown if the Sun Bowl could find a replacement opponent for the Cougars, who arrived in El Paso earlier on Sunday.

These virus issues were known as many as 5 days ago when the Hurricanes announced in a press release that they were still “committed” to playing Washington State in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31.

The Hawaii, Military and Fenway bowls were all called off, and the Gator Bowl replaced Texas A&M with Rutgers to play Wake Forest, all because of COVID-19 issues.
