Texas Tech is hosting Colorado in a game with potential Big 12 championship implications, and it has been competitive throughout the game.

However, the fans continued a negative trend in college football, which is the fans throwing debris on the field because they object with a call.

When the fans started doing it on Saturday night, coach Joey McGuire let them know emphatically to stop throwing debris on the field. Here’s video of McGuire’s yelling at the Texas Tech student section:

This this trend began during the Georgia and Texas game, when the fans threw stuff on the field after a penalty negated a Texas interception. However, during the delay caused by the fans throwing stuff on the field, the officials overturned the penalty and gave the Longhorns the ball.

On that broadcast, Joel Klatt said that the officials set a precedent the fans to react like that, and this is the fourth consecutive week it has happened in the NCAA. The first one was at Texas, but it has happened at Ohio State and Clemson as well in the last 2 weeks.

Colorado ultimately beat Texas Tech 41-27.
