No. 17 Texas played out its final regular season home game on Friday, blowing a late lead to fall to No. 13 Iowa State, 23-20.

After surrendering a late touchdown to fall behind by three, the Longhorns needed to drive down the field to get into field goal range and force overtime. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger orchestrated a drive that got into Iowa State territory, but took a late sack that made it a 57-yard field goal try, which was missed by kicker Eric Dicker in the final play of the game.

It’s been a common theme for the Texas Longhorns in recent years, to end the season in a disappointing manner after claiming to be “back”. It appears to be no different in 2020, as that loss dropped Texas to 5-3 on the season. Here is some of the reaction on social media to another disappointing blow to Tom Herman’s Texas tenure.
