Top college football QB announces he’s entering the transfer portal

Dillon Gabriel suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the year for the UCF Knights.

The former starting quarterback hasn’t returned yet, and Mikey Keene has taken over as the QB1 at UCF in his absence.

On Saturday, Gabriel made a bit of a surprising announcement, revealing that he was going to enter the NCAA transfer portal:

That seems to indicate that Keene will be the guy for Gus Malzahn and the Knights moving forward.

In 3 games before his injury, Gabriel threw for 818 yards, 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He added 125 yards and 2 touchdowns as a runner.

He’ll likely draw plenty of interest from big-name teams in the portal.
