Prized wide receiver recruit and Texas A&M commit Evan Stewart didn’t ink his NLI on Wednesday as the Early Signing Period began. That led some to believe that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian could flip the DFW product to cap a top-5 signing class and provide even more good news for the program after Quinn Evers’ transfer from Ohio State.

Those fears were put to rest on Thursday as Stewart officially signed with the Aggies, another major addition to what already was the No. 1 class in the country.

The 5-star WR, ranked No. 2 at his position by 247Sports.com, pledged to the Aggies on Nov. 29. He is A&M’s 4th 5-star recruit and the 2nd-highest rated player behind defensive lineman Walter Nolan.

He was once pledged to the Longhorns, but eventually gave a verbal commitment to Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies before making it official on Thursday.
