EDITOR’S NOTE: Saturday Down South’s references to recruiting rankings are to 247Sports.com industry composite ranking.

The 2014 season was a bit of a letdown for Texas A&M. Despite their subpar record this year, the Aggies have a great haul of recruits ready to step on campus for next season.

Texas A&M has the sixth-ranked class in the country, which should help them bounce back quickly from this rebuilding year.

The Aggies are going to have at least one good problem: too much talent at quarterback. After landing last year’s top-ranked quarterback recruit, Kyle Allen, the Aggies went out and got this year’s No. 2 quarterback, Kyler Murray. Though he’s on the smaller side, Murray is already drawing comparisons to Johnny Manziel for his dual-threat game.

The defense should get a boost too, with five-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack coming in to plug up the middle of the defensive line, as well as three four-star defensive backs to help with A&M’s porous pass defense. Whoever the Aggies end up hiring for their open defensive coordinator job will have plenty of talent to work with.
