This isn’t the type of offseason news Jimbo Fisher wants to hear.

Texas A&M is set to begin spring practice this week but it will likely do so with Demond Demas facing some form of punishment as the redshirt freshman receiver was arrested in College Station on Tuesday.

Demas was arrested for possession of fewer than two ounces of marijuana. News of Demas’ arrest was first reported by Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle.

According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, Demas has already been released after posting a $2,000 bond.

Demas signed with Texas A&M after being ranked as the nation’s No. 3 receiver in the 2020 recruiting cycle. He appeared in three games last season for the Aggies but has yet to register any stats for the team.

The redshirt freshman is poised to be one of the breakout candidates for the Aggies during his second season on campus.
