Devon Achane, former Texas A&M RB, runs fastest 40-yard dash among RBs at NFL Combine
Devon Achane was expected to run one of the fastest 40-yard dash times at the NFL Combine this weekend, but he was ahead of the pack for running backs. The former Texas A&M running back ran an unofficial 4.32 on his 2nd attempt Sunday afternoon.
That’s the fastest time for any running back taking part Sunday. Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs ran a 4.36 while ECU’s Keaton Mitchell ran a 4.38.
Check out his run below:

Many hoped there’d be a 2 as the 2nd number for Achane’s sprint, which is still possible as times are made official. Regardless, Achane’s run exceeds expectations at 188 pounds.
Devon Achane’s draft outlook
Texas A&M is going to miss Achane dearly. The star running back was easily the Aggies’ top weapon last season and he could become a real weapon in the NFL. As of now, he’s expected to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round by nature of the running back position, though he is considered to be a top 3 RB in the class. It’s worth noting his potential expertise as a return man could bump his stock as well.
We’ll see where Achane ends up at the end of April when the NFL Draft kicks off!
Georgia has a running back in the recruiting class that already runs a 4.2 40!!!! We all know 4.3 is world-class speed. Yet 4.2 is D Primetime Sanders former speed!!!! The Georgia running game is about to be even more elite in 2023, and 2024 especially if we keep THE FLASH!!!!!!! LOL
But this A&M dude is a burner!!! Speaking of A&M. I believe they surprise people this season. I believe the SEC WEST is at least a 3 team race at minimum!!!! I believe Alabama, LSU and A&M are in that race, but Ole miss and Arkansas could rock the boat!!!!
I believe LSU has an advantage mainly because of QB right now. But if one of their great QBs were to transfer and the other get injured God forbid. Then that advantage would disappear quickly!!!! Alabama is Alabama and A&M still has elite athletes a year older!!!! So anything could happen!!!
PS. I believe the SEC will be stout even more than usual this next season!!!!!

That 4.2 was probably run on a track with a coach timing it by hand. Not the same
