Jimbo Fisher explained why he did not start freshman quarterback Conner Weigman earlier in the season after his impressive performance against No. 15 Ole Miss.

His answer came after a close loss to the Rebels, one that saw Weigman throw for 4 touchdowns in a game that was closer than most would have expected.

Weigman finished the night with an impressive 338 yards with the aforementioned 4 touchdowns. That’s the most touchdowns of any Texas A&M quarterback this season in a single game.

It’s hard to imagine he won’t be the starter in College Station moving forward.
