The entire Houston area has been hit hard by Hurricane Harvey in recent days, leading to massive flooding and other destruction.
With several players from the area, the Texas A&M Aggies are feeling the effects more acutely than many other squads.
On his weekly radio show on Monday, coach Kevin Sumlin said football has taken a bit of a backseat in the wake of the devastating storm:
Kevin Sumlin on his radio show on Harvey: It's been a nightmare … A lot of our guys are dealing with things bigger than football.

However, Sumlin added that it’s been nice to see the way communities have pulled together to help those who have lost everything in the storm:
Kevin Sumlin on the devastation of Harvey: People (are pulling) together in this thing. Everybody is trying to help each other.

As of now, it appears the Aggies and their loved ones are all safe, but many people can’t say the same thing just yet.
The Aggies are scheduled to kick off their 2017 season against UCLA on Sunday, Sept. 3, in Los Angeles.
