Duke strength and conditioning coach David Feeley will not join Mike Elko’s staff at Texas A&M, according to a report.

Per FootballScoop, Feeley has turned down Elko’s offer to join him in College Station. Feeley has been widely-regarded as a key part of Duke’s turnaround over the past two seasons. Prior to joining the Blue Devils in January of 2022, Feeley served in the same role for Miami.

The report from Football Scoop says Elko is expected to interview numerous candidates for the top available positions on his coaching staff this weekend. Texas A&M is still in search of an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and strength coach, amongst other roles.

Duke offensive coordinator Kevin Johns will be considered for Texas A&M’s OC vacancy, the report also said.

Texas A&M will likely want to have at least part of its staff in place in the coming days. The transfer portal will officially open for underclassmen on Monday. The 2024 recruiting cycle is also winding down, with the Early Signing Period set to begin on Dec. 20.

Elko previously made the decision to not retain several Texas A&M assistant coaches.
