On Tuesday, 4-star 2018 ATH Vernon Jackson decommitted from Alabama, saying he wouldn’t sign with the school.

On Wednesday, Alabama’s loss became Texas A&M’s gain, as the Aggies managed to convince the Texas native to head to College Station.

This was a big get for coach Jimbo Fisher’s first year at the helm of the Aggies, and finishes off a strong day for the program:

According to the 247Sports composite, Jackson is the No. 21 athlete in the class of 2018 and the No. 48 overall recruit from the state of Texas.

Jackson plays defensive end and outside linebacker, so it’ll be interesting to see how Fisher’s coaching staff plans to use him in 2018 and beyond.

The Aggies finished the day with the No. 6 recruiting class in the SEC and the No. 17 class nationally, per 247Sports.
