Mike Elko shares injury designation for Conner Weigman ahead of Missouri game
Mike Elko shared a brief update on Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman on Monday during his weekly press conference.
Elko told reporters that Weigman will be a “game-time decision” against Mizzou on Saturday as he battles with a shoulder injury that has plagued him for most of the 2024 season.
Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko says QB Conner Weigman (shoulder) will be a game-time decision again this Saturday vs. Missouri.

This is not a significant update, as Weigman has been a game-time decision for the past couple of weeks. He has not played since Texas A&M’s Week 2 win over McNeese State due to this injury.
Marcell Reed has been starting in place of Weigman and has led Texas A&M to an undefeated record. However, his passing stats do leave something to be desired. He’s completed just over 54% of his attempts so far this season and is averaging only 7.4 yards per attempt.
Texas A&M is gearing up for its second top-10 matchup of the season. The first one, against Notre Dame back in Week 1, did not go well with Weigman under center as he completed just 12-of-30 passes in a loss to the Fighting Irish.
Kickoff from College Station is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
Please Conner save us from having to watch another game of bad offense
People tend to omit that Conner was ill during the ND and also got injured.
Weigman needs to be back for A&M to be successful. A 50% completion rate (Reed) will not cut it against good teams.
Reed is 2-0 in SEC play.
We ride with Reed.
Offense is coming around. Receivers finally had separation.
Reed had 3TDS against Arkansas. Arkansas is a better team than we thought and that needs to be taken into consideration.
Plenty of room for Reed to improve, but a W is a W.
Weigman’s last two meaningful games were not good, Auburn and ND.
I’d honestly love for Reed to improve his accuracy/passing skills, but if Weigman is 100%, there is a professional staff grading every practice, and being paid big money to decide which one gives us the best chance to win. I’m really hoping they make the right decision this week.
