The Kansas Jayhawks are still searching for a new football coach after parting ways with Les Miles.

The search seems to be coming toward a conclusion, though, and it appears an SEC assistant is still in the mix for the open position.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Buffalo’s Lance Leipold, Army’s Jeff Monken, Louisiana Tech’s Skip Holtz and Texas A&M’s Mike Elko are the final 4 candidates:

Elko is a defensive coordinator, while the other 3 on the list are head coaches at the moment. We’ll see who ends up taking the job, but whoever ends up in Lawrence will have a total rebuild on their hands.

Kansas has been awful for most of the past decade. We’ll see who wants to walk into that mess. Could it be Elko?
