Texas A&M and Alabama have had some intense battles recently. Two years ago, the Aggies beat the Crimson Tide at Kyle Field.

This year, the two teams entered the game with identical 4-1 records and were both vying for first place in the chaotic SEC West.

Fans in College Station wanted to make sure they were there to see this game in person, as 108,101 of them showed up Saturday afternoon. As you can see below, Texas A&M announced the third-largest crowd in Kyle Field history:

Considering Kyle Field has been around since 1904 (and was last expanded in 2015), that’s an impressive accomplishment. It’s also impressive when you consider that the official listed capacity of the stadium is 102,733.

It’s hard to blame fans for packing Kyle Field to the brim on Saturday afternoon, though. The Aggies have turned things around since a nonconference loss to Miami earlier this year. And any time an SEC team has a legitimate shot to take down Alabama, you know it’s going to be a crazy environment.
