Texas A&M DB Tyreek Chappell is looking to continue his college football career elsewhere after 3 seasons with the Aggies. Chappell is entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

A Northeast High School standout from Philadelphia, Chappell signed with Texas A&M as part of the program’s 2021 recruiting class. A 3-star prospect on the major recruiting services, Chappell picked up scholarship offers from 28 programs, including Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Chappell made an instant impact, appearing in all 12 games of Texas A&M’s 2021 season, making 8 starts. As a first-year player, he made the SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team and The Athletic’s Freshman All-America First Team.

Following his strong debut, Chappell led the Texas A&M defense with 8 pass breakups in 2022. This past season, in 10 games, Chappell had 21 tackles and 7 pass breakups.

Chappell figures to be highly sought-after in the portal as a multi-year starter in the SEC. He has 106 tackles and 26 passes defended with 2 interceptions in his career.
