New Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher had his work cut out for him after taking over the Aggie program back in December.

Though he’s made big strides with A&M’s 2019 recruiting class, the 2018 class needs some work heading into Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

However, Fisher and the Aggies got some good news on Monday afternoon, as 4-star 2018 S Leon O’Neal Jr., a Texas native, posted a video on Twitter announcing he’d play at Texas A&M this fall:

According to the 247Sports composite, O’Neal is the No. 8 safety in the class of 2018 and the No. 8 overall player from the state of Texas.

With O’Neal on board, the Aggies now have 15 players in their 2018 class. Before O’Neal’s commitment, the Aggies had the No. 10 class in the SEC and the No. 35 class nationally, per 247Sports.
