One of the top prospects in the class of 2022 has settled on Knoxville for his senior season. Now, the big question is – will he stay there for his college career?

Mark Packer of WVLT-TV shared the news that 5-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen has enrolled at Powell High School, located just outside of Knoxville. Earlier this month, Nolen named Tennessee one of his five finalists along with Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Michigan.

Whether this means Nolen will play college football in Knoxville depends on who you ask. On 247Sports, there are no Crystal Ball predictions at this time for where Nolen will sign. On Rivals, there are 3 recent FutureCast predictions for Nolen to commit to the Volunteers. Notably, two Rivals analysts, including national analyst Mike Farrell, have switched their June predictions of Florida to Tennessee this month. Farrell switched his FutureCast to UT on Sunday. There are still three analyst/publisher FutureCasts for Nolen to Florida.

Coming off of his most recent season at St. Benedict-Auburndale in Cordova, Tenn., Nolen is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 3 prospect overall in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.

It goes without saying that landing Nolen would be a huge get for Josh Heupel in his first cycle as Tennessee’s head coach.
